Emet Baker

I am a Montreal-based singer/songwriter, guitarist, busker, and performing musician. With a deep passion for off-the-cuff, real time improvisation, I aim to capture the magic that is the moment and to highlight the extraordinary in every ordinary.

In May of 2022, I found myself standing on Springer Mountain in Georgia with a cascade of emotions. Over the next 90 days, I walked, clambered, and butt-scooched my way along the 2,194 mile footpath that is the Appalachian Trail. This experience demanded the entirety of my being, instilled an unshakable gratitude in me for this world that we share, and cemented a sense of connectedness with all persons that are, were, and will be.

I devote myself in this life to honoring, accepting, and capturing whatever the present may bring, and to carrying on the traditions of those who have done the same. Whether it be through music, hiking, or other forms, as long as there are torch bearers preserving expressions of the human experience then we all live on. 

It is an honor to share my journey in carving, whittling, and lighting a torch of my own on the perpetual flames that burn from generation to generation.
